Glass Fusion

Anything in glass from lighting to jewellery!

I have been playing with glass for more than 20 years, I use both coloured and recycled glass. All my pieces are formed in the kiln in multiple stages. Different metals and enamels are inserted between two or more layers of glass and fused around 800C; they may be fired several times to achieve the desired effect and then cold worked to finish the edges. I am happy to design and discuss commissions for special events, interior and exterior decorative glass art.

Recent commissions:

Presentation pieces for The Blue House. Panels for Sands Resort Hotel in Cornwall. Reception desk in London. Presentation bowl for Friends of the River Frome.

Since moving to Frome 4 years ago, I have also been researching indigo dyeing using woad. It was grown in and around Frome and used extensively in the dye vats locally. I will be demonstrating the dyeing technique at the National Garden Show in the Bath & West Showgrounds Sept 3, 4, 5th and possibly in the Blue House on Sunday Sept 12th when it is open for a Heritage Day.
